Operation MAT Experiment

In celebration of my recently acquired NEW JOB I plan on trying a new journey on Monday. I am going to attempt to take Omaha public transportation downtown. This, of course is a trial run. My anxiety cannot take the possible issues on a first day. After research on this possibility I discovered the I would only have to take one bus, it would drop me off right in front of my new workplace and it wouldn't take me two days to get downtown...at least that is what the schedule says. Yes, I will have to leave earlier for work than my driving working self, but think of the things I could do. Read the paper, do my make-up, read a book, watch Grey's Anatomy, and just wake up. All of these things would be really difficult while driving, although I have seen most of them while observing other drivers. Not to mention the fact my car will sit idle in my garage, I will spend less on fuel, and the earth may like me a bit more.

The issues I am looking for while testing my experiment. Do I feel like I am going to puke? In case you do not know I get motion sickness easily. I have been sick in cars, boats, buses, planes and trolleys (no kidding). All my ambition for what I could get done depends on what I can do without getting sick. I would also like to see how close the buses run on schedule. Considering nearly no one rides them I am not worried about getting a seat.

Wish me luck...

Have you ever rode a bus in Omaha? Bad news. There is a reason why everyone drives here :)

It breaks down like this: poor souls who don't want to ride the bus but their car broke down or they're down on their luck and trying to get to their job, and then the freaks who stare and harass you. I'll be interested to hear how this turns out :) Maybe things have changed...

So, how did this turn out? I'm dying for an update. Absolutely dying.
